Without Barrel and Boar, “Ohio” and “barbecue” wouldn’t share the same sentence. Before their succulent meats and mouthwatering fixin’s were the talk of the town, good, old-fashioned barbecue, cooked low and slow, was almost impossible to find. That was more than 40 years ago. Today, crowds of hungry BBQ aficionados head to Barrel and Boar’s restaurants, pop-ups, and mobile smokers for melt-in-your mouth pulled chicken, pork, brisket, and all the delectable sides one can imagine. Every cut is sourced from local butchers, and everything from the sauces and rubs to the honey butter cornbread muffins is made from scratch. There’s plenty more to this menu than the barbecue pit; Barrel and Boar serves up fresh salads, soulful soups, juicy sandwiches, and sweet treats.
