Gumbeaux Girls
Turning Hotlanta Creole.
At just 14 years old, Rychie discovered her passion for cooking.. One of her cousins, known for his jokes, expressed excitement at the cornbread dressing. “Who made this?” he asked, scanning the table. Under the impression he absolutely hated it, Rychie sheepishly raised her hand. “This is incredible!” he exclaimed. Surprised by his enthusiasm, Rychie decided to pursue a career as a chef. Inspired by her mother’s cooking and New Orleans upbringing, Rychie began crafting Creole classics like red beans and rice, etouffee, fried catfish, and of course, gumbo. She started her catering business in 2007, selling plates out of the back of her car. A decade later, fueled by sheer determination and an insatiable hunger for success, Chef Rychie's dream took to the streets with her very own food truck. Now, she spreads the taste of Louisiana across Atlanta, gracing eager taste buds with her authentic home-style cooking and serving up a side of warm Southern hospitality.
