At Parlay Savory Saloon, Latrice Coleman wants you to feel like you’re at your friend’s house who “pulls out all the stops”. Whether you’re here to sip, savor, or snack, this spot has dazzled Atlantans with their warm, homestyle offerings for almost five years. Latrice is the child of esteemed restauranteurs who have served the city of Philadelphia with their beloved soul food for over thirty years. “When you go there, it doesn’t just feel like a restaurant, it feels like a community, so I definitely carry that vibe with me,” she states proudly. Latrice always had innate cooking abilities, but ended up pursuing a career in IT when she grew older, all the while yearning for the communal feel of the bustling kitchens of her childhood. In 2019, she shifted gears and partnered with fellow chef Xavier John to establish Parlay Savory Saloon food truck. Latrice and Xavier delight customers with their tantalizing soul food options, perfect for a small snack or larger meal. Diners cannot get enough of their fried flounder, which is meticulously brined to remove all impurities and then coated with a light, perfectly seasoned batter to ensure maximum crispiness. For Latrice, that heartening feel of home is infused with every bite.
