Pidgin Hole

Pidgin Hole Owners

Born In Hawaii.

Becca Russell and Jeremy Hansen refuse to be “pidgin holed” into one area of cuisine, instead opting for a celebration of fusion cooking that Jeremy grew up with. Learning from his gonggong, or grandfather in Cantonese, who was a professional chef for over thirty years, Jeremy honed his craft while creating new dishes inspired by his heritage and childhood homeland of Hawaii. When Becca and Jeremy met while working at the same restaurant many years later, it was pure kismet. They opened Pidgin Hole in 2017, where “pidgin” references the Hawaiian creole language and “pidgin hole” is an homage to the fusion, island-inspired fare they serve. A customer favorite is the Hawaiian rice bowl, sweet & savory shoyu chicken, kalbi sauce, mango salsa, and asian slaw is combined lovingly over a bed of freshly cooked rice
