Thai Thai Street Food Trick

That Son-In-Law Egg.

While you may be familiar with pad thai or papaya salad, Thai Thai Street Food specializes in authentic Thai street foods that may be unfamiliar to the palate, but are guaranteed to satisfy. Kou Moua’s fore into cooking began when he started working in fast food restaurants as a teacher, eventually moving up the ranks to manager, and after seven years, decided he wanted to start a business of his own. Noticing a lack of traditional Thai street foods in his area, he and his business partner took a trip to Thailand, visiting different major cities and being sure to sample a plethora of street foods in each one. From Bangkok to Chiang Mai, every dish struck inspiration and Kou was eager to return to the states to showcase what he learned. He opened the truck in 2022, featuring his Chiang Mai chicken, different types of satay, and salads, all served with classic Thai son-in-law eggs, which are a Thai delicacy of hard-boiled and fried eggs marinated in a tangy tamarind sauce. Kou prides himself on recreating the efficiency and flavors of the Thai food street stalls he encountered during his travels. Beyond serving a delicious meal, Kou aims to make cooking and business skills more accessible to his community through providing services that can teach young chefs how to operate and franchise their own food trucks.
