Rapid Response: 19,000 Meals Served for ByteDance in Just Two Days
Food Fleet’s strength is in its spirit of community as well as a commitment to our clients, our partners, and one another. On a Sunday afternoon, our client team at ByteDance (TikTok) reached out with an urgent ask: their walk-in refrigerators went down, causing them to lose all of their product, and they needed at least 9,000 meals for Monday. Within just five hours, our Bay Area team rallied together, locking in vendors, providing menus, and confirming contracts.
By Monday, station takeovers were executed seamlessly. That same evening, the client came back with another urgent request for 1,500 more meals on Tuesday, and we secured it in under two hours. To top it all off, the cafeteria also had a health inspection yesterday, which our vendor partners passed with flying colors.
The results speak for themselves: 10,500 meals ($189,000) served at headquarters in just two days - plus an additional 8,500 meals served through our regularly scheduled services at neighboring ByteDance/TikTok buildings.
In total, that’s over 19,000 meals and $335,000 in value across sites in just 48 hours. Absolutely incredible teamwork, hustle, and execution. This is no small feat, and it deserves to be celebrated.
Vice President of Operations, Carly Jacobson, weighed in, saying that it is a “Reflection of ourstrong relationships with our partners.”
