Ministry of Culture. Flavor Philosopher. Guardian of Good Taste.

For the last three decades, Claudia has worked in all aspects of food media and hospitality. She’s prepped for the line, taught cooking classes and even hosted a Spanish language television show during off off hours for the local cable station. Her twist on a molten chocolate cake was so good, it made it onto the inside of a chocolate wrapper – sweet fame, literally. That said, it’s speaking with artisanal food makers and learning their stories is where Claudia hits her stride.

As a publisher of Edible Queens and Edible Idaho, she realized the importance of casting a light on small food producers. Small food producers, whether fishers and brewers or pop ups and restaurants, rarely can share their journeys, their origin stories in general. The impact the stories produced by Edible Queens and Edible Idaho had on the lives of small food business owners is measurable.

Claudia’s passion for storytelling led her to earn a Master’s degree in Food and Culture, deepening her understanding of how food shapes identity, community, and culture. Today, she brings that insight to Food Fleet – crafting narratives that not only spotlight local partners but also connect audiences to the people and purpose behind what they do. With a keen eye for what resonates and a deep respect for food traditions, Claudia turns culinary stories into powerful touchpoints that inspire, engage, and build lasting impact.

 Field Notes

  1. Favorite kind of chaos: Working with tight deadlines like when I needed to research, interview and write 300 partner stories within 3 months

  2. What she believes food can do: Bring people together

  3. Biggest quiet power moment: When partners reach out and thank me for listening to their story

  4. The moment that mattered most: Being served ajiaco in Bogotá by my grand aunt when I was 10 years old

  5. Biggest lesson learned in the field: Patience

  6. Most unexpected tool in her toolkit: A dictionary

  7. Coffee order / coping mechanism: A single malt
