Blue Chip Creamery
The Story
Blue Chip Creamery started when Christina and Matt Zajac left their jobs to build something of their own. They picked up a beat-up 1976 ice cream truck off Craigslist, fixed it up, and started selling what they now call “Chillwiches” that got them voted CT’s Best Ice Cream Truck. Each one is made with fresh baked cookies and packed with premium ice cream, then finished with different flavors and toppings. What began as one truck has grown into multiple trucks, a production space in Wethersfield, and a full family operation making thousands of sandwiches by hand every month. From block parties to weddings to grocery freezers, Blue Chip has spread across Connecticut and into Western Mass, but the idea hasn’t changed: serve something people are excited to come back for.
