Los Dos Amigos
Since 99, Still The Move.
Los Dos Amigos Taco Truck dishes up some of Detroit’s most sought-after authentic Mexican food. A local staple, this pioneering food truck opened in 1999 as one of the area’s first. While working construction, Rosita Guardado’s father caught wind of a food truck for sale and jumped at the opportunity to buy it. Today this family-owned and operated business has three trucks, the original is a 1975 old school Chevy which occupies a permanent location, while the others rotate through events and festivals. A family business through and through, Rosita manages the bookings, and her siblings work with their dad on the truck.
A boy of twelve, Rosita’s father moved to the US from Jalisco, Mexico. Having worked in construction, commercial kitchens, and the meat packing industry, his passion has always been to share food from home with his community. Jalisco is famous for Tequila, Mariachi, and its exquisite cheese from the Highlands. It is no wonder that quesadillas are the truck’s top sellers! Palm sized quesadillas, made with a thicker tortilla and served with fresh avocado, tomato, and scratch-made salsa give theirs a unique touch.
The family are grateful to their community for so many years of support, and they are a recent addition to our Food Fleet family!
