Nu Deli
Deli Classics, Indian Twist.
Matt Daniels and his partner Meghna Shrivastava live a split life. During tourist season you can find them cooking at Verandah, a seasonal restaurant in Goa, India. But come monsoon season, the pair return to Detroit, where they serve “old-school Jewish-style food…with an Indian twist” at Nu Deli. You can find Daniels’ parents on the truck helping out with the cooking, bringing the reuben sandwiches and tikka veg options to life. And though it’s just a sandwich, Daniels hopes the marriage between cultures that contextualizes the food will inspire tolerance and empathy.
